Comment on the Information Issued by the Ministry of Defence of Azerbaijan

On 7 March, the Ministry of Defence of Azerbaijan issued an information claiming that, allegedly during the same day, a convoy of military vehicles of the Armenian Armed Forces, accompanied by the Russian peacekeeping forces, passed along the dirt road Stepanakert-Lisagor.

In this regard, we deem it necessary to emphasize that the information disseminated by the Ministry of Defence of Azerbaijan does not correspond to reality and is just another fake news by the Azerbaijani side aimed at misleading the international community.

The Azerbaijani authorities had been spreading such disinformation also about the alleged transfer of landmines from Armenia to Artsakh, however on 22 February 2023, the UN Court of Justice rejected this falsehood at the highest international level.

At the same time, it is obvious that official Baku is trying in this way to divert the attention of the international community from the terrorist act committed by the Azerbaijani armed forces on 5 March, the ongoing policy of terrorism and ethnic cleansing against the people of Artsakh, as well as prepare the ground for possible new provocations.
